Do you have tutorials available on how to use the software?

Yes. Simply open Wedding Planner and go to the Home section (this section opens by default whenever you open the program, after leaving the Welcome screen). You will see a Getting Started button. Click this to view what tutorials are available to familiarize yourself with Wedding Planner.

Wedding Planner keeps freezing up and crashing if I try to save my database file. What can I do?

Are you in WedConnect mode? See if you can get into the WedConnect area and "Disconnect from WedConnect". If you are still connected, this will be why the program is getting bogged down and crashing (especially if you have so much information entered in your Wedding Planner). WedConnect works by simultaneously sharing all database information between the two or more people connected on it; this means that the program is constantly verifying all information in the database being shared online between the two or more computers, which can become a huge resource hog. If you can disconnect from WedConnect, this should solve your problem.

Can I use Wedding Planner if I already hired a bridal consultant?

Absolutely! Although a bridal consultant can physically attend your wedding in order to coordinate your big day, Wedding Planner can give your consultant every important detail relating to your event with easy to follow printouts. Wedding Planner was even designed around the advice, planning strategy, and trends provided by some of the top bridal consultants in North America - all members of the Association of Bridal Consultants.

If you want your consultant to stay with you every step of the way, you can also use Wedding Planner’s unique WedConnect™ feature. This allows you, your consultant, and anyone else you want to work simultaneously on your wedding plans.

*Wedding Planner includes a complimentary invitation to add an additional WedConnect user. Others can be added for a small one-time fee. Find more details on this on PlanWeddingDay.com.

How do I use WedConnect?

During the planning stages of a wedding, almost every couple reaches out to a family member, friend or other party for some help with their plans, This could mean getting information on who to add to the guest list, what the budget limit is for anything related to the wedding, getting measurements from the bridal attendants, or working with the site coordinator on how a room should be set up for the reception. When this time comes, you simply need to use Wedding Planner’s WedConnect feature to quickly get what you need. Wedding Planner includes an additional WedConnect license, for any one person (on either PC or Mac) to work on your plans with you.

To use WedConnect:

1) Click the WedConnect button in the top icon bar; only the Administrator (main planner) had access to this section of Wedding Planner.

2) You will see one WedConnect User already created called Administrator; this is you. Click the Add button at the bottom right to add your complimentary WedConnect User.

3) A User window will open. Here you can give your WedConnect User a Nick Name (Mom, Maid of Honor, etc.); a User name (either their name or a unique user ID); a Password (preferably something easy for you and them to remember); and an Email Address. The Email Address is necessary in order to notify your WedConnect User(s) that they can log in to your Wedding Planner once you Connect to WedConnect. Once this information is complete, you can assign permissions that tell you what each WedConnect user is allowed to View, Create, Modify, Delete and Print while connected to your Wedding Planner. Anything checked gives them permission; leaving items unchecked keeps those sections private from your users.

Click the Module header if you want to give the user full permissions (automatically checks all boxes); or just check the header of each column to automatically check all boxes in that column.

When you are done, click the OK button.

4) Your new User will now appear in the WedConnect Users window. If you want to add additional WedConnect Users, click the Add button. The License Manager window will now open. You can buy additional WedConnect licenses by clicking the Buy WedConnect License button which takes you to an order page on the PlanWeddingDay.com website. Once this is complete, click the Close button. You are now ready to Connect to WedConnect.

5) Click the Connect to WedConnect button to transfer your Wedding Planner database online. This process may take a few minutes, depending on your Internet connection and how large your wedding plans are. The window will refresh once you are connected.

6) You can now let your WedConnect Users know your Wedding Planner is available to work on. Click the Notify WedConnect Users button to send an email to your users listed in the WedConnect Users window. This will email them your unique Wedding ID, their User name, and their Password. Each user will need to download the Wedding Planner demo from the PlanWeddingDay.com website (or other download site). WedConnect Users will then need to install the demo and enter the Wedding ID in the Guest User section of the Welcome screen. A Login window will then open asking for the user’s User name and Password. Once this information is entered, they will then have access to your Wedding Planner based on the permissions you gave them.

Please Note: Connecting to Wedding Planner using WedConnect may take up to a few minutes depending on Internet speed, volume of WedConnect users online at same time, and your computer hardware.

7) While in WedConnect mode, your Wedding Plans will be available for all WedConnect Users to work on simultaneously. Wedding Planner will remain connected, even if you exit the software.

8) When you are ready to take back full control of your wedding plans, simply go to the WedConnect section and click the Disconnect WedConnect Users button. Wedding Planner will then take a few moments to save the database and then bring your Wedding Planner offline so no one else can work on your current plans.

9) You can always remove a WedConnect User by clicking the Remove button at the bottom right of the WedConnect section. This way, the user will no longer be notified of, or granted access to your plans when you go back in WedConnect mode.
